There is a particular pleasure in putting down your bags and knowing the afternoon can belong to the pool. The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, is our home in Cabo San Lucas. The days have room to stretch.
Settle into the sunshine. Stay in the water a little longer. Pick up the conversation that keeps getting interrupted at home. Time together is the reason for coming, and there is plenty of it built into the trip.
Then comes that first sunset: a beautifully made cocktail, the ocean catching the last light, and the pleasure of having the whole evening ahead of you.

A beautiful hike along the ocean brings us closer to the coast: water moving below, the horizon opening ahead, and plenty of reasons to stop and take it in.
Afterward, lunch gets the attention it deserves. A beautiful setting, excellent food, and champagne turn the pause into one of the pleasures of the trip. There is time to linger over the last glass and let the conversation wander.
It is a lovely pairing: a stretch of coastline followed by a little indulgence. Both are better with someone beside you.
